ASTOUNDING RISE.

Auki.aidk, Friday. An astounding rise has taken place in the Broken Hill Silver Aline Company's shares. On Wednesday night, shares were selling at £320 per share ; by noon yesterday they had risen to £370. During the afternoon holders were asking £410, though no sales are recorded at the figure. It is impossible to buy below that price. Nineteen pounds have only been paid up per share in this mine. Last year dividends were at the rate of 30s per month.

No reason is assigned For the fresh rise ill the price of Broken Hills, lint the advance may be due to anticipated receipts from the sale of portions of the lease of the mine to English capitalists.
