SPORTING.
* Te Awamucu Races. The weather was fine for the Waipa Racing Club's meeting, which was held on the I fine course at Te Awamutu yesterday. There was a large attendance from all parts of the district, the special trams from Auckland and Te Arnha being also very extensively patronised. Owing to a full report not having readied us up to the time of going to press, we are unable to give any further particulars of the day's sports than what is found below, but we understand that everything worked smoothly, and some excellent running was exhibited by the competitors. Handicap Hurdle Race of 30sovs. Two miles. Mr Bertrand's b g Bob Sawyer 1 Mr C. Weal's b m Kotiro 2 Cora and Zulu were scratched. Bob Sawyer was. however, disqualified for not taking the first hurdle. Maiden Plate of 30sovs. l^tniles. Mr Booth's b'g Ernest 1 Mr Alhvell's b g Memorandum 2 Deceiver, Card player, Mantilla and Glencoe were scratched. Novel Race of SOsovs. 1 mile. Mr Parafcini's b g Grasshopper 1 Mr Bertrand's b g Wilfred 2 Whalcatane and Unknown were scratched. There were 10 entries and 8 started. Te Awamutu Cur (Handicap), SOsovs. 2 miles.
