At Cambridge oil Saturday, January 2tst, the meat sale at Messrs Kootli and Roberta was lietter attended than usual and all sold at fair prices. At the cattle yards a Rood number of stores were yarded, which made fully Oluuipo prices. Only a few fat cattle were sold. Price? were, 1 and 2-year-old heifers, ]2-i to 23s (id; yearling steers, £1 ; fat heifers, £2 r« each. At the horse and produce yards new potatoes sold for (is lid per sack, new saddles, £2 2s; pnnies, from £1 17s 0d to £3 10s; medium draught mares, £(i 5s to £7 10s each. At Ohaupo on Tuesday, the 24th inst., there was a very large muster of cattle, all well-bred and in Rood condition. Dairy cows sold better than usual, and any at profit met keen competition, and in many instances exceeded reserves. Young cattle sold freely; grown steers enquired for, but not many yarded. -Beef cattle were yarded in excess of requirements, about SO bead being penned. Unless very prime were dull of sale. A large number of sheep were yarded, and the greater part sold. We quote : Dairy cows, at calving, £3 to £4 2s Gd ; backward, £2 to £3; yearling steers, £1 to £1 4s ; heifers, 10s 6d to 14a; weaned calves (mixed soves), 7s Gd to 13s ; two-year-old steers, £1 lite to £2; three-year-old do., £2 11s to £3; four-year-old fresh steers, £3 Us to £4 4s ; two-year-old heifers, 15s to 233; fat heifers and cows, £2 15s to £3 10s; store ewes, 5s to (is (id ; long-wool lambs, 4s to Gs each. AUCKLAND LIVE STOCK MARKETS. Messrs Hunter and Nolan's Kepoiit. —Grain, horse feed, &c. : The market has been very dull, and very small quantities changed hands at the previous week's rates. Horses: A good many medium description of horses have been brought forward, and found purchasers at the previous week's values, but with perhaps the exception of blood stock no good animals were disposed of. There was a good muster at the Durham Yards on Friday, competition was eteady throughout tlio sale, and, almost without exception, lots were cleared. We quote hacks from £4 10s to £9 ; light harness horses, from £0 15s to £10 15s; no heavy draughts disposed of; colts, medium draught, unbroken, sold at from £8 to £8 10h. Wool, hides, and skins: A small supply at the Durham Yards, and there remained an unsatisfied demand for ox hides at from 4d to od per lb ; cow hides, 2!J.'l to 3.W ; calf skins, 4d to 5d perlb ; sheepskins, Is Gd to 3s Gd each; lor.gwool, in grease, bale 3, o[d per lb; lambswool, Gid to C:|d per lb. Cattle: ] Very few store and dairy cows have been brought forward. Fat beasts have been sufficiently numerous, but prices were low. An average number of fat boasts were yarded at Newmarket on Tuesday, put a limited one of dairy and store stock. There was a very slack demand, and prices were lower than on the previous week by Is per 1001b. Sheep were penned at Newmv.rket on Tuesday in limited numbers, but prices had no upward tendency. Lambs, in adequate number, sold at from 5s ltd to 10s. Pigs: Average number yarded. Prices varied from 2d to 3d per lb live weight. Messrs Alfred Buckland and Co. Report.—At tho Huymarket on Friday, January 20, very few loads of fodder were brought forward : Prices ranged from 2s to 3s tho cwt. Now oats coming to hand sold for Is 10d ; old oats, Is lid to 2s 3d ; maize, 3s Gd the bushel : bran, £3 10s : clialf, £4 to £4 5h the ton. Horse stock were olfered in less number than usual, but there was no alteration in values. At the hide and skin sale on January 24 prices wpro firm : Best ox hides ranged from <lid to 5d ; cow hides, 3.|d to 3§d ; calfskins, 3jfd to 5Jd the lb. ; lambskins, from la 8d to 2s 4d ; pelts, (H to Is ; sheepskins, up to 3s 10d each ; wool, from to G£d the lb. At Remuera, on Thursday, dairy cattle were at low values; store cattle in better enquiry ; fat cattle were lower than last week : Good oxen brought 13s and 14s; cows from 10s to 12s the 100 lbs. Sheep wore at last week's values, and lambs, although in short supply, were no better worth; somn averages were: 22 eteers, J, and J. Goodfe.llow, £(> eacii; 6 ateers, J. Tola, £5 14a; 8 steers, C.
