FIRE AT WAITETI.

The dwelling of Mr Smith, engaged on the railway works at Waiteti, was destroyed by tire on Saturday night. It appears that Mis Smith was sick in bed at tho time, and her husband in moving a lighted candle accidentally set the window curtain on fire. The flames took a hold of the woodwork, and the house was quickly consumed. The loss is put down at £50.
