RAGLAN.
Rkgatta and SroiiTs.— Our annual sports and regatta took place here on 2nd instant. Tho weather was good, with a fine breeze blowing, this, however, was more appreciated by those on the water. Long before the time appointed for the first event (tho sailing race,) an unusual number of people had made their appearance, amongst them many from Kawhia and others from Hatnil ton, Whatawhata, and Te Awamutu. Great praise is due to the race committee and stewards, for the programme, and the very efficiont way in which it was carriod out. Appended aro the several events with the results. SAIMNO OPKN BOAT RACE. Peninsula (Richard Philip) ... 1 Jane (Rawui) 2 i Four entries. Both these boats were well handled and kept well together all round the course. OANOK HURUI/K BACK. Reinana 1 Kongo 2 Three entries. The tide having left the hurdles out of the water it was very difficult to gat the canoes over, consequently this race caused more than usual amusement to the spectators. PULLING BOAT BACK. Te Akau (Johstone) 1 Pahoe (Gal van) 2 This race was well contested, the first boat only winning by about a length. OUKABY BOOM. Moke... 1 DISTUICT MAIDEN FLAT RACE. IOOVDS. Kohi 1 Te Awa 2 Six entries. DOTS' BACK, ON mill 15, 200VI1S. Harry Giluiour 1 Fred'Bulford 2 HANDICAP FLAT RACK 200VUS. Tukll 1 Te Awa 2 Seven entries. MILE HANDICAP RACE.
