Ring, Imly bells,on tiie in.iruing air sending Blessings from 0.-d to man. As when the w.nlil began, Her sin bad spread its ban Ring out the premise of life without ending, Ain from its stronghold tear, Bring joy to souls of care, Peace unto hearts that bear Sorrowful burdens, tlieir broken hopes mending. King, Christmas bolls! while the faithful are singing To Him who glory w.m ; Braise to Jehovah’s Son, To Him, the chosen One, Ring, holy hells, with the glad tidings, bringing Glory to ev’ry land, From this and ev’ry strand. Echoes -m every hand— I >t the redemption of those whoare clinging To the eternal Rock, Heedless of storm and shock, Heedless of those who mock— Heedless to all, save the truth in your ringing. King, holy bells, while the innermost feeling Whispers as each note swells, Deep as your cadence wells. In tile fond soul, and tells Of Him who saved the world, sinful hearts healing— Saved man from soulful loss. By death upon the cross Saved all eternal loss. Gave all the premise now heard in your pealing (If tbe immortal life, Unlike this one of ufe, Mis’ry and mortal strife. King, holy bells while the faithful are kneeling King, t hristmas bells ! that His word may be gi veil < Her all distant lands Clasping rebellious hands. Knitting with loving bands. Nations whose hearts are with discordance riven ; Then will dread sin depart. And God's own Word impart Gi.ace unto e-'ry heart. Binding as brothers all men who have given Place to the tyrant's rod, Humbly their love to God. Kindness to ail who trod In life's most troublous wav, .striving for Heaven. Ring, holy bells, with Christ's promise and glory While the united kneel. While they God’s blessing feel. Ring out a merry pe il. King out the. song of sweet Betheleiu'-s -Bay, That which shall hvcalway. Praise for the holy day. When tbe Redeemer lay Wrapped iutlie manger. His cradle of glory. Then pe d again, and ring Loud, while the faithful sing. Peace unto all men bring. Ring out the promise of Betlieh-m's story.
