ATTEMPT TO POISON A GRANDFATHER.
■ ♦ At the Shepton Mallet Petty Sessions recently (before Colonel Napier, chairman and Capt. Sherston) Albert Thorn, a hoy, 17 years and 7 months old, was commited for trial for administering a poisonous drug to his grandfather Charles Colledgc a barber of Tipcote-lull. The,prisoner, who is an errand hoy at Mr. Maynard’s, grocer believed that his grandfather had killed his rabbit, and when taxed with the offence hy P. S. Perry said, “ He. killed my rabbit and I thought I would serve him the same or make him. sick.” The prison t hal pit phosphate of Ton into tho sugar and when Colledgc sugared his tea he noticed that it turned black. He then informed tho police that someone had attempted to poison him, and inquiries led to tho prisoner’s arrest with the above result.
