SCHOOL ENTERTAINMENT AND SPORTS.
Til Hamilton West school children, primto entering np hi their Christinas holiday', gave a mU'icial entertainment in the Public Hall mi Thursday nil'llt which was a very ({real .-necess and drew a full audience. The concert was under the able conductorship of Miss .Murray and the pianoforte accompaniments were played by Miss W. Murray. The singing by the children was excellent and in perfect time and harmony, reflecting the highest credit on Miss Murray’s training. The programme was as follows: Pianforte duet, “The Cracovien,” by Misses W. Murray and L. Jones; chorus, “ Parmer John,” by full company ; trio, “The Millwheel,” very nicely rendered, by Misses G. (fraham. Kate Kicly and Alice Snides ; chorus, “ Away we go song and chorus, “ Little Sisters (lone to Sleep,” a capital performance ; duet, “ Juanita,” by Misses Ada Saunderson and Lena Jones ; song and chorus, “Some Polks,” by some boys, was very good indeed ; song, “On the Banks of Allan Water,” by Miss Kate Jolly, was a sweet song and gained the young lady a demand for an encore; chorus, “ Hear the Voice of the Watchman ;” pianoforte duet, by Misses W. Murray and L. Jones. The second part of the evening consisted of a charade, acted by Misses (1. (-fraham. A. Sandes, K. Kieley, E. Harwood, P. Logie, Mr V. Gaudin and Master H. Hume. Xext followed a farce, pliyed with great spirit by Misses K. Jolly, M. EJgecmnbe, and Mr Gaudin. The school snorts took place yesterday afternoon in Mr Dallicus grounds, and came off very successfully under the supervision of Mr Murray, headmaster. Mrs W.
