A company has been launched at Te Aroha for the purpose of thoroughly prospecting the goldfield in that locality by driving a tunnel through the hill in the direction of the well-known New Find Goldmine. When any reef is cut that is proved payable, it shall be either let on tribute or worked by the company. The capital is £130,000 in £1 shares. 20,000 shares are offered to the public, and 10,000 arc held by the company. 7000 shares have already been subscribed in Te Aroha. We hope to see the residents of this part of the district giving every encouragement to the objects of the company by taking up shares. We look upon Te Aroha as intimately associated with, if not a part of the great Waikato country, and whatever tends to advance the interests of Te Aroha must also operate materially on the prosperity of the whole district. Mr James Mills, whose public spirit is always foremost in such matters, is secretary to the company, and can supply every information on the subject.
