Wk are infoi-inetl that a considerable amount of dissatisfaction is expressed by the Ngatimaniapnto in consequence of a survey at present being prosecuted by Mr W. Cussen in the Tnluia country. The natives in that district are also very much displeased. Taonui represented the ma tter to Major Mair, the presiding judge of the Native Land Court which recently sat at Otorohanga, and requested him to bring it before the notice of the Government with a, view to having the survey stopped; but, apparently, no notice has been taken of the request. The Tuhua lies within that part of the Kobe Potae Block the Hurakia- Maraeroa—over which so much bitter complaint and deep sense of injustice have been felt by the Ngatimaniapoto and other tribes. The Tuhua people, wo are given to understand, have given Mr Percy Smith notice that if this survey is not suspended at once they (the natives) will take measures to stop it.
