CRICKET.

Proposed County Cricket Match.

A meeting of delegates from the chibs of Waikato and Waipa, was held in Delaney’s Hotel, Ohanpo, on Tuesday, at 8 p.m. Present : Messrs Crookes and Riohdale (Paterangi), Lang and Reed (Tnhikaramea), Ansenne and Stewart (Cambridge). Delegates were expected from Hamilton and Tannin, and the meeting which was to have been held at 0 p.m., was postponed until 8 p.m., to allow of them being present if coming by train, but they did not turn np. Mr Crookes was unanimously voted to the chair. Proposed by Mr Ansenne, seconded by Mr Richdale that a cricket match between the counties of Waipa and Waikato be played on Saturday, December 17th. Carried. Proposed by Mr Crookes, seconded by Mr Stewart "that the match be played at Cambridge, at 11 o’clock precisely.” Carried.

Proposed by Mr Reid and seconded by Mr Lang “ That arrangements for lunch bo loft in the hands of Mr Stewart.”

Waikato being represented at the meeting only by the delegates from Cambridge, it was agreed by them to postpone the selection of the Waikato team till after further communication with the secretaries of the Hamilton and Tanpiri Clubs. The Waipa delegates have selected the following players to represent Waipa in the match: Messrs Barton, Case, Crookes, Park, Jenkins, Aubin, Macfarlano, Richdale, Reid, Swanson and Goble.
