[REUTER’S TKLKCUAMS.] London, November 2S. The Sugar Bounties Conference will probably favour the abolition of bounties on a sliding scale, extending over a period of ten years. Lord Lyons, late British Ambassador at Paris, was seized with a fit in this city today, and he now lies in a very serious condition. Tho death is announced of Ridley*, the inventor of reaping machines. Mr C. C. Lacaila, M.P. for Dundee, has resigned his seat iu tho House of Commons, ex'plaining that he can no longer give support to Mr Gladstone. Bishop Oswald Dykes has been selected as Moderator of tho English Presbyterian Assembly.
