TE AROHA.
Bucjov Accident.—A buggy accident happened to-day, which was nearly being attended with serious consequences. Mr Roch, junr,, and Miss Ruch. of Shaftesbury, were driving through Te Arohu, when the bridle of one of the horses got loose, and the animal becoming frightened set off at a furious speed, taking with it its comrade. Turning the corner at the Bust-office into Victoria-street, the vehicle got foul of a paling fence, which it stripped for some distance, and (inally got piffled up opposite the O'*nrt-houso. The baggy sustained considerable damage, but fortunately the occupants escaped unbanned.
Mini-; Speculation.— Messrs ,f. Abbott and .). H. Withcford arrived here by rail from Auckland yesterday. They immediately started for Owharoa, and inspected some of the mines there, inc’n bug the Smile of I’ortmio, from which they brought a few excellent specimens, broken out in their presence, and then returned to Te Aroha in time to catch the train for Auckland. This beats the best previous record.
