We regret to learn there is little or no clumeo of securing this session any amended legislation of the Codlin Moth Act. Mr J. B. Whyte, M.H.R., put the question to the Government in the hopes of securing some sympathy with the movement, but members arc perfectly indifferent about the question, whilst the Nelson members are opposed to the proposed Bill. The Government replied to Mr Whyte’s question to the effect that they are impressed with the necessity for such a measure, and will introduce one next session. The Order Paper is so crowded with private Bills that this circumstance, together with the indifference of members, renders it hopeless to expect to get a Bill by a private member through this session.
