Sp.-erhrs were made expressing extreme dissatisfaction with the explanation given regarding the alleged complicity in M. Wilson (son-in-law of the President), in the recent War o‘llce scandals. The charges were reiterated, and the speakers demanded that AI. Wilson .should resign oliice. LuXI-oN, October --’a. The motion to appoint a committee to empiire into the C.tlianl scandal has hcen carried in the Chamber of -Deputies, despite the opposition of the Government. It is feared that President Grevy will resign if a committee of inquiry is appointed to investigate tin; recent scandals.
