Jn the ease of tin* Canal the treaty provides that it shall remain open as an tivaihihle route during the time of war, when no hostile act will he permitted at the approaches to or on the hanks of the Canal within a m-ntral zone to he fixed hv an International Commission, The Cowers encased in hostilities are forbidden to disembark or embark troops or supplies within the Canal. Egypt is to make a treaty respecting it. and if unable to do so she will appeal to tie* Power which will concert with other Powers to take necessary measures for enforcing the provisions fit the treaty or the convention. Regarding tin; New Hebrides the engagements entered into between England and France in I*7o and 167 a are continued. It is provided that Prance will evacuate the islands, and that British and Prem-h nn n-o-war shall assure the security of their respective subjects.
