Social (»athkkinc. —On Wednesday all the community, old and young, mol for a social tea in the school. During the after* noon races were run, and various games vigmirously Impt up ny the younger friends. The evening was made pleasant by music, songs, etc. Mr WhUton Howell exhibited a magic lantern, which was a source of gie it amusement to the children. Mr Henrickson gave a re:d treat to lovers of music by hi.s perfectly rendered violin solo. Songs were given by the Misses Mall and Abbott, and by Mr A, (Mow. Mr Crix,in a few wcll clioscn words expressed the feelings of all present, remarking that lie could not, but wish that gatherings such as this were of more fmjnent occurrence, he. was sure that they would he a great pleasure and benefit, to the childien especially. After the Doxofogy had he<m sung a loyal friend in honour of the Jubilee, proposed our grand National Anthem should be sung ; his suggestion met with a very hearty response. The meeting then broke up. This gathering reflects greatly to the credit of Hukete, showing the universal spirit of amity and good-fellowship, for which this littleHCttlornwnt is noted,--(Correspondent.)
