Wnsi.i.t an - </i;aiitkui.y Cmair. The, Wedeyan Chmeh fpiai tel ly circuit meeting was held at the parsonage on Friday. There was a fair attendance of representative.- from the dilfeient parts of the district. The Rev. K. Hai in presided. The financial statement was very satisfactory, as it showed a huger income than at any previous iinarler, a circim-tanco which, cmi-idering the general dullness that had prevailed, was especially gratifying. .Much success was reported from the establishment of the mis.-ieii in the Banna part of the circuit, under the cliaige. of Mr F.lliot, and on account of these encouraging results it was now resolved to continue his mission (which was nt first formed tentatively) [nr a longer period. A cordial invitation was given to the Itov. S. Rawry to remain in the district another year, and it is hoped arrangements will be made whereby lie will bo enabled to do so. Ha'ti: Mission - .—An interestingand well nttendeded meeting in connection with the Home Mission was held in the church in the evening when addresses were delivered by the Kev. Mr Ravin, the Rev. Mr Lawny, and others liUlin Sii.U'TKSiirnv. Ford Shaftesbury accompanied by Mr I’aget Torynliee and Mr Ralph C. Asslietnn arrived hero from the Thames yesterday and are staying at the I’alaco Hotel. Their visit will bo of short duration as they intend returning to Auckland to day. Tin-: W.uro.v ( loi.hkiki.ds,—Prospecting is still being briskly continued in different purtu of the Waitoa district, but there is nothing of exceptional interest to report at present. I luring the week the auriferous country has been inspected by a party of experts from Auckland, but the conclusion they have come to respecting the now field has not yet been made known.
