RESIDENT MAGISTRATE’S COURT CAMBRIDGE.
Vk.'Tkkdav.—(Hcfnrc Mr 11. W. Northcroft, 11. M.) William .buixsox, Hantanu, was charged with unlawfully personating William Johnstone, of Raglan, at the Cambridge polling-booth on the :Wth instant. He was reminded for eight days for the production of an important witness, and admitted 1., bail. Charles Edmund Cleaves, a lad, plead-d guilty to stealing Is, a concertina, a tin of preserved milk, and other articles from Hugh Lang; and a rule, brush, watch and chain, and several other articles from Tho.--. Wilkinson, both of whom resided at Hantapu. Prisoner had made a long, wiitten confession, slating when and how he had taken the things. He was remanded for eight days, the II M. stating he would tiy and find some other method of dealing with him Ilian sending him to the Industrial William Maxwell was charged by .1. H. Arnaboldi with using obscene language in Dnke-street, Cambridge, on the l’7th in slant. The case was dismissed, the K.M. saying it was a pity the matter had not been allowed to pass, it being election time, and most people being excited. There were a few unimportant civil cases.
