WHAINGAROA HIGHWAY BOARD.
A .mkktixi; of this Hoard was held at the board room after adjournments, on the 27th hist. I'resent: The chairman, J. 1C .Mac Donald, and Messrs Wallis and Austin.
Tile minutes of the last meeting were read and continued. Mr Austin was deputed to view bridges and culverts nn Wailetiina llunlly road, and report, and was authorised to order any necessary works to he done to a limited sum. The clerk having read the correspondence. Resolved “That various sums be paid for works tn roads, etc.
Resolved “That the dork give notice tn all parlies to clear such portions of roads adjoining their various properties. And to keep them free from encroachment thereon ot all gorse, svveetbnar, bramble, and scrub. Resolved “ That the chairman tie empowered to confer with the Raglan Road Hoard, for the joint formation of a harbour hoard, tn effect the erection of a wharf, and to arrange for the management of the same." To ho jointly exercised hy such Harbour Hoard and the Whaingaroa Highway Hoard. Tile clerk was instructed to give the contractor for surface works, and repairs on the Waipa and Kanroa loads, notice tn no further delay the works requiring immediate attention at Ins hands.
Resolved that written notices be posted In the district under tlie board’s control, “That all pigs found trespassing on the district roads on and after the 2Utli day of cplenihor next, ensuing bo destroyed. And further that Mr Arthur H. Cogswell be appointed ranger for the district without salary. Notice was reccivedjfrom J. Sperrey Esq., that a sum of £i>islos 8d would be placed to the board's credit.—(Own Correspondent.) Raglan, August 31st 1887.
