Okstlwikn, —Bein'; most fully convinced that in the establishment of the beet-root sugar industry, rests the key to prosperous agricultural settlement in Waikato, and that our district is especially adapted to this important industry, I would respectfully ask you to meet me at the Public flall,Uhaupo, on TUESDAY, the 23rd inst, at If a.in. sharp, to give me an opportunity for laying before you the results of my past seven years investigation into the subject, and if lam successful in convincing you of the, importance of the measure, to resolve upon a decided course of action, for the purpose of practically commencing Sugar Beet Boot Cultivation in Waikato, and thereby lay the foundation of a great agricultural future, for all who choose to settle in our district. The information I shall give you will be authentic, and consists of statistics collected from Germany, France, and Aim; rica, from actual workings of the beet sugar ; also experiment, I have had made in Waikato. Also samples of Beet-Sugar as received from the German heet factory, also sample of Beet-Sugar from the American factory, with the opinions expressed by experts as to the relative chances of heef, versus eauc, from actual experience, i ask you to meet me at Ohaupo, as being possibly the most convenient meeting ground for the farmers, who, of necessity, must be warmly interested in this matter. If we are to succeed, and moreover, I am desirous of obtaining an impartial consensus of opinion to guide me in my next step towards advancing this industry another stage ahead.—Yours faithfully, WILLIAM A.
