WHAT HAS MR WHYTE DONE?

Whatever Mr Whyte has done lie has been well paid for. 1 give Mr Whyte credit lor being gold at getting a few roads and bridges, but what is the use of these roads and bridges whim it actually costs more in railway freight than the produce is worth when it gets to Auckland, and I believe if it bad not been for Mr W hyte we should have had railway reform ill both fares and freights before this. So what is the use of the good milch cow our " Piako Settler talks about if she gives a go d meal of milk and then puts her foot in it at the finish ? But what he has dno and what he has not done f shall refrain from writing, as I respect Mr Whyte as a man, but in these critical times it behoves every man to look out and send the best man down.
