The burglar entered the barmaid’s bedroom, taking three one pound notes and the keys. He then ransacked the bar, taking 30s in ca-h, but leaving £3O in cheques behind. Both miter doors of the betel were found open this morning. Later.

This morning the barman of Mamaev's Settlers Hotel, Waipawa, on getting up found that about £3O in cheques and notes and the keys had been taken from hipocket during the night, and on going down stasrs he found the bar and the till open and more cash gone. The cheques were left in the till. The police have a clue.
