SHAM NAVAL ATTACK ON THE ENGLISH COAST.
(REITER'S TELEGRAMS.] T/jxio.v, August 3. N aval evolutions on an extensive scale are now proceeding off the English coast and the chief [uitte, several squadrons having bi-cn formed for the purpose. One. commanded by Rear-Admiral Krecmantle, attacked and captured Falmouth, and sailed in the direction of Dover, which is defended by a squadron under Vice-Admiral .Sir W. llewett.
Loxi six, August 4. Tim naval squadron under the c-miliiand •»f Admiral Kreemantle winch, after capturing Falmouth siiied in the direction of Dover, succeeded in eluding the defending squadron under Admiral Hewitt and captured the entrances to the Thames and Medway. An engagement took place yesterday evening, led ween the two squadrons in the Downs during which two Nordenfelt guns being used on board the Curlew and I Hack Prince burst and a number of seamen v;ere injured.
