I will honestly endeavour to reduce expenditure within revenue without increasing taxation. I am opposed to any unnecessary taxation for purely protective purposes, and shall advocate reform form in tliv working of our railways and their management., so as to encourage the settlement of the r.p country districts, and am also prepared to advocate that a fair trial be given to Mr Vaile’s system.
