[BY TELEGRAPH.— OWN CORRESPONDENT.] In Bankruptcy. Auckland, Monday Night. In the Bankruptcy Court to-day, counsel on behalf of Mr Ehrenfricd and other creditors opposed the discharge of James Warren, formerly hotelkeeper at Te Aroha. After hearing the evidence his Honour said he was very loth to exercise the powers of the Act imposing imprisonment, but in this case he confessed there had been very great carelessness in keeping the hooks. After hearing Mr Ehrenfried, it seemed, too, that there had been something more than carelessness, and had he been charged with removing goods from the hotel Ida sentence would have been very severe, and as it was he ordered that the debtor should be imprisoned with hard labour for a month. The debtor [was then taken into custody. The Island Trade.

The Wainui, the Union Company’s new steamer far the Fiji trade, replacing the Arawata, arrived to-day. She is specially fitted for carrying fruit. The Stud Company.

It is understood that Major Walmsley, who is at present in England, has purchased the stallion Limestone on behalf of the New Zealand Stud Company. He is a full brother to Quicklime, being got by Wenlock from Duvernay, and has been a pretty good performer. Limestone was foaled in 1878.
