ELECTION ITEMS.
Mr J. Ivk.ss has decided to contest the Napier seat against Mr Ormond. It is stated that Mr liallauce’s chances for the Wanganui seat arc precarious The Mayor of Kaiapoi is said to have a majority of the votes as against the Hon. Mr K-ichardson. Sir K. Stout is coming to Auckland, where he will address the electors. It is reported that he will have a very clo«e fight for his own electorate, Dunedin Kast.

Mr Humphries, who announced that he would retire from the Coromandel conte>t if Mr James Mackay came out for that electorate, now declines to do so. Mr Cadman is at Waihi on electioneering business. A keen contest is anticipated between Messrs Mackay and Cadman. The latter addresses the electors in about a fortnight.
