J. M. GELLING, Secretary Cemetry Committee. Council Chambers, Hamilton, 19th July 1887. Auckland Roller Mills and Biscuit Manufactory, - FORT-STREET AUCKLAND, TAKES the liberty of intimating to the public that he has put on the market a .1 PATENT PORRIDGE MEAL MADE PROM PURE WHEAT, Which is much cooler than oatmeal, and it will be seen from the analysis of Mr J. A. Pond, Colonial Analyst, which is annexed, that this is a most valuable food, and is giving entire satisfaction. It can, be'obtained at most of the leading grocers in Auckland and suburbs, in seven pound bags and upwards, and brown bread made from this meal from the leading bakers. In making the porridge, the water should be boiling before the meal is put in, Auckland, February 12, ISS7, J. Lamb, Esq., Auckland. ■ Sik,— At your request I obtained a sample of your Porridge Meal from your Mill on the 31st nlfc,, and have examined it with the following results J. M. GELLING, Secretary ’Domain Board, Council Chambers, Hamilton, Tilth July, ISS7. TRUST. JOHN lAMB, OP THE •Analysis : Moisture Soluble Albuminoids Sugar, Gum, and Dextrines Gluten Cellulose Starch and Fat Ash 12-85 1-10 5 To 7-06 2.58 70.30 •9G

100-00 The sample was produced entirely from wheat, and these results show the preparation of a valuable article of food, from which a large proportion of the bran lias been removed. The nitrogenous matter is present to a greater degree than it would be in flour prepared from this wheat, while the retention of the germ in, the meal adds greatly to its value as a flesh-producer, owing to the largo amount of albuminoids thus retained. The ash is heavier than in ordinary wheat flours, and as this is chiefly composed of phosphates, which are . very important as bone forming materials, it will be seen how beneficial this food will prove to children. lam of opinion that this preparation will prove of great value,, but to ensure its easy assimilation by the system it will require care in cooking, and will need at least thirty minutes at a boiling temperature to attain this result. I have, &c., J. A. POND. Colonial Analyst. Sussex-Street, Newton, February 23, 1887. Mr John Lamb, Dear Sir, —Eleven years ago I was injured, and have not been able to take solid food since. I have tried many farinaceous foods, as well as Neave’s Food ; but a few weeks ago I purchased a quantity of your Patent Porridge Meal, and I found this superior to anything that I have hitherto used for indigestion, and I thank you for making this food. I am, sir, yours respectfully, WALTER THOM, Engineer. 'pEMPEEANCE JJOTEL, OTOEOHANGA. A. Gr. s. BLACK. The above hotel, which has been recently erected and furnished throughout in the best style, affords excellent accommodation to the travelling public.
