Tiikkk can be no douht upon the terrible fact that the Red Terror is upon us. In the Row, in Regent-street, and along Piccadilly it is impossible to drive for a single ten minutes without having one’s eyes stung with the reflected flash of the most brilliant crimson. Crimson sunshades, crimson hats, crimson curtains, and even crimson skirts flash and flare wherever one’s look is turned. Without a single exception, I think red is the ugliest hue which can he employed for decorative purposes. There i; a hot angry ohstrusiveness about it which wants softening down almost to invisibility before it looks nice.
