Poetry.

A CHARM [.VO MYSTERY. PfllK as tins sheen of a shimmering icicle, True as tins steel of my favourite bicycle, Sweet as a blossom in May. Bright as the zenith of day, Saucy as llecce in aeyuauine sky. Lips like a rosebud in dreamy July ; Plucking the scouted petals to see Whether it's Tom or whether it’s me : Thrall-devising, Tantalizing, Very charming mystery. She laughs at the glare of my cricketing jacket, And quizzes my style” as I handle the racquet. Critical, chattering, fay. Winsome to-morrow, wayward to-day. She pouts and declares that I’m bashful and shy, And boxes my cars when to kiss her I try. Plucking the petals—‘one, two, three Again and again they whisper to mo ; Fnbdioving, •Self-deceiving, Very charming mystery. " Petals white and petals rod Who is he that f may wed ? Petals pink and petals blue Tell me is lie brave and true ?” Flutter, petals, as you fall Fateful petal last of all Bear my message tenderly To my charming mystery. G. Falconer King in ‘‘Boodlosque Ballads.”
