AUCKLAND LIVE STOCK MARKETS. Messrs Hunter and Nolan’s Kecoiit —Crain, horse feed, seed, &c. ; There Ijas been little alteration in value, but the demand was slacker than on the previous week. Horses: There was an improvement in the demand and an advance in price was given, and those of a tolerable stamp found ready purchasers. .Scarcely an average number were submitted by auction. At the Durham Yards on Friday competition was , steady throughout the sale, and most of the lots wgre cleared at higher values than on the previous week, and further sales could have boon effected at higher values than have been lately ruling. Cattle : The number brought forward was not so large, particularly of fat beasts, as on the previous week. There was a steady demand for all descriptions, with but little alteration in value. At the Newmarket Yards on Tuesday space would have been found for a good many more, but the Pukekoho Yards were well filled on Wednesday. Competition wae good at both sales, resulting in little; or no alteration in value. Sheep were in barely average numbers, and there was an Upward tendency in value. Pigs scarce. Mr Alfred Bcckland’h Weekly Report.—At the Hayniarkct horse sale on Friday, July Bth, horses were offered in less than average number, but almost all brought forward wore sold, and prices were firm. Heavy draught unbroken, £ls to £2O ; medium draught, from £7 10s and npwards; riding horses, £1 to £l2 were the prices ruling. Two waggons sold for £2O 10s and £35 respectively ; fodder was in full supply, and at late values, ranging from Is !)d to 2s 9d the cwt. delivered; chaff, £3 15s and £1; carrots, 40s to 50s; bran, £1 10s the ton ; oats and maize, at late values —oats, 2s 2d and 2s 2d ; maize, Ss 2d the bushel. At the hide and skin sale on Tuesday, 12th, hides maintained their late values; bullock hides brought from 22s to 2"w each. .Sheepskins wore in better demand than of lato; station skins brought from 2s to -Is (id each. At Reinnera, on Thursday, dairy cows were plentiful and slow of sate at late values. Store cattle scarcely represented. Fat cattle of good qnality in less than usual number sold more freely than last week and ware better worth. Sheep in usual number, fully maintained last week’s values, wethers ranging from 11s (id to 17s each. Fat calves scarce and sold well, particularly young calves well fatted. Pigs plentiful, and sold freely throughout, but were better worth as the sale proceeded.
