Competition was brisk throughout the sale, which continued to close oa five o’clock. In future, tho sales will commence at one o’clock during tho winter months. The following prices were realised;— Mutton, IJd to 2,(d per lb ; fresh pork, 2i(d to 4d per lb: green hams, G.}d per lb; and bacon, ditto, fid per lb; beef, 1 jfd to 2jfd per lb; apples, 2d to 2Jd per lb j onions, 2d ; horse carrots, 3s fid per bag. Furniture: Carpet, 70s; couch, IDs; washstand, 10s : tables, 20s, 11s, 10s fid, and 15s ; rocking chair, 20s; clock, 11s; side-saddle, 57s fid ; apple trees, fid to Ud each ; plum, 7d to 9d each ; wallnuts, Sd each. Lot IG7, Parish of Tuhikaramea, 50 acres, 2s fid per acre ; 288, 50 acres, 2s fid per acre ; 2GB, 50 acres, 2s (ill per acre; Lot 300, Ngaroto, 50 acres, 4» fid per aero.

Ikelter’h telegram.] London, July B. —Consols remain at 101 is. —New Zealand 4 per cent, inscribed stock i. 98} .—Adelaide wheat, e.v store, is 35s ; New Zealand, 34s to 3Cs ; Adelaide Hour, ex store, is 24s fid.—The total quantity of wheat afloat for the United Kingdom is 1,1)90,000 quarters ; and for Continental markets, (151,000 quarters, —Australian tallow, average quality ; Beef, 22s fid ; mutton, 24s.—New Zealand frozen mutton, prime quality, is unchanged at 3fd to 4d.— The wool sales to-day were again (inn. The catalogue comprised 10,900 bales.—London, July!).—Wool continues firm. At to-day’s auction the catalogue comprised 10,100 bales. —The wheat market continues depressed. There is a prospect of a good harvest hero. Australian sorts are (!d lower in all positions.—The hop gardens have slightly improved, but only a partial crop is expected.—At the wool sales the finest sorts were weaker, consequent on the American demand slackening. Low crossbreds were firm, but lambs were neglected. 220,000 bales were catalogued, of which 22,0)00 were withdrawn.
