Adelaide, June 16. It is not expected that the;.general preparations for the Adelaide Exhibition will be .completed.,by the opening day.

The Paramatta arrived to-day, amongst her passengers being Sir J. W. Downer, late Premier of South Australia, and Mr Alfred Deakin, Chief Secretary of Victoria. Owing to the reeent death of his brother, Mr Harold Downer, a presentation to Sir J. W. Downer, was of an informal character. M r Deakin left for Victoria overland this afternoon. Melbourne, June 16. A religious service of an undenominational character will be held in the Town Hall, on the 24th, to commemorate the Queen's Jubilee. It is expected that Bishop Goe will preside, and Drs. Cameron, Lees, Bevan, and other clergyman will be present.' THE LATEST. ♦___ (Received June 17th, 1 p.nu) Sydney, June 17. In the Legislative Assembly last night, Mr Dibbs' motion condemning the action of the Premier in prohibiting the use of the theatres on Sunday was rejected. Sir Henry Parkes' motion, recording an expression of the loyalty of Parliament to the Queen, was carried. A great scene ensued, the Opposition cheering, and the majority of the Ministerialists singing the National Anthem.
