JUBILEE EXHIBITION AT WANGANUI.
TbY TELEGRAPH.— PRESS association.! i Wanganui, Friday, i The West Coast Jubilee Exhibition was opened to-day by the Governor in the presence of a large assembly, Addresses of welcome were read by the Town Cleric and the friendly societies, after which' the Governor was driven to the gardens, where he opened the Queen's Band Rotunda. He then proceeded to the Exhibition Buildings, where an address was: delivered'by-Mr Carson, chairman of the committee, and his Excellency replied. A public iuncheon was held after the ceremony, at which speeches by the Governor, Mr Ballance, and others, were delivered. The weather, which had been bad for the previous two days, was all that could be desired, and everything passed off satisfactorily. There was a large procession l , of friendly, societies,'' and the volunteers turned out as a guard of honour. The proceedings were marked with great enthusiasm all through.
