In pursuance to the provisions of " The Municipal Corporations Act, 1S80," and "Regulation of Local Elections Act. 187(5." notice is hereby given that an ELECTION will bo held in the Council Chambers, Hamilton, on TUESDAY, the 28th inst., for the return of a duly qualified person as Councillor for this Borough, vice Councillor Barton, elected Mayor. Notick iri HEiiEBY GivKX that the Council of the Borough of Hamilton intend on MONDAY, the 20th of June, 1887, to make a GENERAL RATE in conformity with the provisions of the "Rating Act, 187(5," and the " Municipal Corporations Act, 188(5," of one shilling iti the £ upon all assessable property within the said Borough for a period of one year from the Ist April, 1887, to 31st March, 1888, and to be payable from the Ist July, 1887, in one sum.
