Wk are informed on pond authority that the whole of the Matamafca estate—with tlie exception of a portion at Peria—has been sold to an English company of capitalists. We are also informed that a Mr Hunter has been appointed manager, and that he has been at Matainata for more than a week. We have endeavoured to verify these statements, but up to the time of going to pj'P,ss have been unable to do so in every particular, We find that a Mr Hunter is at Matamata, and that a change is contemplated, so wo think our informants are veryprobably correct.
