TURKEY AND CRETE.

The Ottom-in Ports has rofused the demands of the Cretan inhabitants, and threatens to proclaim martial law throughout the island unless they are at once withdrawn. The Great European Powers are, however, dissuading Turkey from carrying out the threat.
