Horse stock were y,irded in full numbers, and more freedom was shown in bidding than for some time. Trices for medium draught ranged from £7 to £12, riding and light harness from £4 to £13 each. The usual salo of hides, etc., was held on Wednosday, 25th. Prices were well sustained. Best hides brought from lid to l.kl the lb ; tallow, 12s to 13« (id the cwt; sheep skins, from Is (kl to 3s [id each; wool, the lb. At Remuora, on Thursday, dairy cows were in demand at fully late values. Store cattle batter worth; thrcc-yivir steers brought from £','> to £3 15s each. Fat cattle, although not so high as last week, brought from 17s to 20s tho lOOlbs, varying with quality. Fat sheep also sold well. ■Wethers brought from !)s (id to 1U ; ewo-s, 8s 8d to lls GU eaah ; lambs, 8s to Us; calves were also in demand at full values. Pigs, short of requirement;, sold freely. Mkssus Hunter and Nolan 3 Report. —Grain seeds and horse feed : The qualities brought forward have been quite sufficient for requirements, and a steady demand has existed. We quote: Oats, from 2s 3d to 2s Gd ; oaten chaff, £3 10s to £4 ; cocksfoot, 7s Gd ber bushel; rye, 5s fid per bushel; Oamaru and Canterbury potatoes, £3 per ton; bran, £1 10s per ton. Horses: The supply has again been rather limited, the demand has been weak, and consequently values havo not altered. An average number were submitted by auction at the Durham Yards on Friday; for some lots competition was good, but old hurses in low condition were comparatively neglected, but a good many changed hands. We quote : Hacks, at from £4 to £12; light harness horses, from £8 to £14 10*; draught, £12 to £17 5.<. Wool, hides and skins : Ihe Durham Yards sale was held on Wednesday, Tuesday being a holiday. The quantity wns limited, and competition was good. We quote : Ox hides, from 3jd to 4od ; cow hides, from 2?d to SM ; tallow, from 10s (id to 15s ; sheepskins, from 2s to 3s (>J. Cattle : A good many fat boasts have beiMi brought forward, notwithstanding there has only been one cargo from the West Coast. Prices were lower than on the previous week fully 10s per head. There was a fair muster of'dairy and store stock, and a good one of fat at Newmarket on Tuesday. A great many of those yarded were not sufficiently up in condition, and sold relatively lower'than well-fatted steers, some pens of which realised 20s per 1031bs. Dairy cows were well competed for, and prices were in favour of vendors. The stores yarded were in poor condition, and sold at low values. Sheep : There was a good muster of sheep and of great variety of description, but most of them fell into the butcher's hands at from "is to Is 8d per 81bs ; lambs, from 5s to 13s each. Pigs: Very few yarded, and there exists a good demand for dairy-fed porkers.
