FOOTBALL.
A WET.r, contested game was witnessed in tho Government paddock Cambridge, on Saturday, between - the Cambridge and Haniiiton East ; District " Schools. The -Hamilton, played one man short but, nevertheless, they played in a plucky manner and found Cambridge some work before they managed to score. The game was played in two spells of 35 minutes each, and just before half time Leslie Bull made a grand run and secured airy, from which his brother Lenoard very neatly kicked a goal. In the second portion of the game the . Hamilton boys made the pace faster, but could not retreive their misfortune, being met at all points by the Cambridge backs. The Hamilton were twice forced down. Cambridge.was victorious by 5 points to nil, the most prominent players being the brothers Bull, Evans and Chambers. For Hamilton, Sage, Von Stunner and Gelling did good service. Messrs Porter and ISewman acted as umpires. The Hamilton boys seemed rather crest fallen, but intend to return the compliment in the next match with Cambridge, when they will have the assistance ef fivtf boys who could not attend on Saturday.
