The Waikato Times Office, Friday. AUCKLAND LIVE STOCK MARKETS. Messrs Hunter and Nolan's Repobt.— Grain, seods, and horsefeed: The supply noted last week has been continuous and the demand sfcoady. At auction at the Durham Yards on Friday competition was good at the previous week's quotations. Hordes: But a limited number were brought forward, and found purchasers at the previous week's values. The entries for disposal by auction at the Durham Yards on Friday was below the average. Bidding was fairly brisk, but no large priced animals were disposed of, and values were unaltered as compared with the previous week. Wool, hides, skins and tallow: But a limited quantity lias been brought forward. The demand continued good at last week's values. Cow hides, 2.Jd to 3d per lb; ox, from 3|d to 4Ad; callskins, 'id to ; sheepskins, Is Id to 3s 9d each; tallow, 10s (id to 13s per cwt. Cattle : The supply of fat beasts has been short, but there has been an average number of other descriptions. Dairy stock have maintained their value, and there has been a marked advance in fat oxen. A good many dairy cows were yarded at Newmarket on Tuesday. There was scarcely an average number of stores, and a short one of fat steers, but a good many cows. Dairy cows, at their profit, were well competed for, and there was rather an upward tendency in value. Stores unaltered. There was an advance in value of well-tatted steers of fully £1 per head, but there was scarcely a corresponding rise in cows. Steers sold at from £5 5s to £9 7s 6d ; cows from £3 to £6 15s. Sheep have been fairly plentiful, with an upward tendency in value. The Newmarket pens were fairly filled on Tuesday. An advance of from Is to 2s per head was obtained, and there remained an unsatisfied demand, particularly for good wethers, of which there were more yarded, 13s Gd being the highest price given; ewes from 7« 6d to 10s 6d each; lambs, 6a 9d to 8s 9d each. Pigs were again yarded in limited numbers; some of good quality excited keen competition, and reached 3d per lb. live weight. Mr Alfred Buckland's Weekly Report.—At the Haymarket on Friday, loose fodder brought from 2s 3d to 3s 9d the cwt.; oats, 2s to 2s 4d the bushel; potatoes, £3 per ton ; bran, 4s Cd the cwt. At the horse sale a large number were yarded, and nearly all sold at satisfactory prices. Hacks, from £3 to £10; medium draught, £6 to £10; two second-hand buggies brought £25 each. At the hide and skin sale on Tuesday, very few were offered. Good ox hides sold at 4id ; cow hides, 3d to 3Jd ; calfskins, 3d to 4|d. At Pokeno on Monday there was a small sale, and everything sold that was yarded. The usual monthly sale at Drury on Wednesday was well attended by buyers. There was a good muster of store cattle and dairy cows. For the latter there was good competition. At Remuera on Thursday, dairy cattle were in full numbers. Prices were withoat alteration from late markets. Fat stock were short of requirements owing to no stock arriving this week from the West Coast. Prices were much higher. Fat cattle firm at 20s the 1001b ; fat sheep, 3d the lb. Pigs were in moderate number, but at late values. AUCKLAND MARKET QUOTATIONS.
