ALLEGED BURYING-GROUND SCANDAL IN EDINBURGH.

A scandal is alleged to have recently come to light in connection with a bury-ing-ground in the South Side of Edinburgh. It is stated that about sixteen months ago a married couple residing in the neighbourhood had a child died. They bought a lair of ground in the graveyard, and the remains were interred there. About a fortnight ago a second child belonging to the same couple died, and here a singular part of the story comes in. The thoughts of the bereaved mother would naturally at such a time dwell on both the children she had lost, but that does not account for her dreaming three times in succession that the first child'whb died appeared to her, and said repeatedly, " Mother, come and see me." In this way, however,, the mother's suspicions were aroused. She went to the graveyard and'deinanded that the grave should'be probed so that she might see that the coffin was there. , It is alleged that when this was done . it, was found that .the coffin was only a short distance from the surface. On the grave being opened, it is alleged, it was found that the child's ceffin had been lifted, and several others interred underneath it. These coffins were at once removed, both children buried side by side, and a complaint, it is understood, has been made to the authorities regarding the whole affair, which may probably be further heard of in the civil courts.
