AS a SUMMER RETREAT ■Ok- not one anion ? the -SANA 10KIA ol New Zealand is so rapidly becoming famous as TE AROHA. The celebrity of its HOT SPRINGS is extending: throughout the length and breadth of the Jolony, and the WONDERFUL CURES. effected by the Waters in cases of RHEUMATISM, GOUT, LUMBAGO, LIVER, AND KIDNEY COMPLAINTS, INDIGESTION, and Kindred Ailments, are gratefully testilicd to in the Visitors' Book by Hundreds of Persons who by their use have been lestored to Health and all its enjoyments. The place is par excellence the Sanatorium of the People. The CLIMATE in its HEALTH-GIVING PROPRIETIES is unsurpassed ; the COST OF LIVING is exceedingly MODERATE ; and the locality is easy of access by rivi;r, rail, or road, from Auckland and tho Thames. In addition to these advantages there are for the Robust abundant means of enjoyment in Boating, Riding, and Driving, while for those in delicate health the neatly laid out Domain forms a most pleasant resort. The following analysis of the \Vat»rs by Mr J. A. Pond, Colonial Analyst, and the accompanying extracts from his report thereon to the Domain Hoard, will be read with interest. The Samples were taken from the Springs, as numbered, the temperatures of which ranged from 105degs. to lli)de:s. Fahr: — Analysis. o y o % = ! ! Q^ Sulphate of Lime 2,980 2.228 .9s!) These Waters are all feebly alkaline and strongly charged with carbonic acid gas, which is constantly escaping from the Springs in large quantities. The Lithia. a valuable constituent of these Waters, is present in an appreciable quantity. The Analyses show these Springs to be very similar in composition. Those Mineral Waters are exceedingly interesting, and will prove of great value medicinally. They closely resemble some of the European Mineral Springs fo justly celebrated, more especially tho<;e of Vichy, Ems, and Eachiiigen. Their Curative Value will bo greatest in Rheumatic and Arthritic Diseases. Calculus, Affections of the Kidneys, and Dyspepsia. You may rest assured that all you can do for your Springs in the shape of improving the facilities for their u«o, H entirely ustified by the character of the water. MONEY TO LEND, Small Sums, at a moderate lute of interest.—Jackson atu! Russell, Solicitors, Fort-street, Auckland.
