LATEST PAEROA NEWS.
[FROM OUR OWN CORRESPONDENT."] Paekoa, Monday. With reference to Mr Larnach's decision to withhold any further subsidy to the tramway connecting che Karangahake county track with Railey's battery until the present charge* for reduction of ore were lowered, Mr Adam Porter received a wire from the company's legal manager to-day, stating definitely that no reduction will be made. •A meeting of the miners will be held at ■Karangahake on Wednesday, when it is hoped that someone representing the company will be present to make some amicable arrangement. It will be regretable if there should happen to be a fiasco at this juncture.
At a meeting held on Saturday night at Paeroa, it was unanimously resolved to urge the Ohinemuri County Council to use their best endeiivours to thwart the Thames Harbour Board in their supposed desire to get control of the Ohinemuri, Piako, and YVaihou rivers.
