"Done;" said the other, as he pulled out a bill. A very respectablelooking man was standing by, and the money was placed in his hands. " Now," said the sharper, "you turn your face to the wall and fold your arms. I will write down the dates and we will compare them." At the end of three minutes he had twenty dates, and they put the coins on the seat to make a comparison. The man had hit only two dates out of the lot. "I'll take the tenner,'' said the Detroiter, as he rose up and looked around. But he never did. The stake-holder had slid out, and the man with the trick was a bigger chap than he cared to tackle.
