RAILWAY REFORM.

TO THE KNITOK. Sib,—Messrs Wliyto and Mitchelson have thought proper to accuse me of making "errors," and also of "aggravating Ins accusations." I now call upon Messrs Whyte and Mitchelson as honourable man to state distinctly and specifically what these errors and aggravated accusations are. If they can show that J. have made any I shall be only too happy to make the proper amends. 1 await their reply. As to the contemptible insinuations of interested motives contained in Mr Mitchelson's letter of to-day, I have given the most effectual reply by my action at the meeting of the council of the Kailway Reform League held this afternoon. Notwithstanding Mr Mitchelson's letter, 1 repeat my assertion that in dealing with Mr Whyte's action I confined myself strictly to facts. I now add that I stated those facts in the most temperate manner possible, and I shall continue to maintain my position until Messrs Whyte and Mitchelson clearly and distinctly state what are the errors and accusations they say I have made. lam most anxious that no wrong should be done to anybody, and therefore hope they will accept my challenge. If they do not, they will stand self-convicted of having attempted to deceive the public. —I am, yours faithfully, Sajiuel Vaile. Hamilton, 31st March, 1887.
