LATEST AUCKLAND NEWS.
(by telegraph.—own correspondent.) The Horticultural ShowAuckland, Friday Night. At the Horticultural Show the exhibits of fruit was rather deficient in quantity, although the quality was very good. A good design of a cheap ground vinery was shown. The exhibition of cut flowers was very good. The Markets. Butter and eggs remain at last week's quotations. No change in local brands since of flour. The Auckland Stud Company. At the annual meeting of the Stud Company the directors' report stated that the yearly sale possibly exceeded the directors' expectations, although they were cognisant of the fact that good prices would be obtained for Musket stock. The directors propose shortly to reduce the liability of the shareholders from the sum of £2 _10s per share, which is their present liability, to £1 per share, of which sum 10s will be deemed paid up. The financial position of the company will then be, as against £18,129 capital paid up, assets: Sylvia Park, Hill paddock, Cydesdales, thoroughbred horses stock. The Tramway Company shares and debts due to the company are £(>0,1931 as against liabilities amounting to £39,450. The balance in favour of the company is £20,743. The outlook for future operations on the whole may be regarded as satisfactory. The company is in a position to hold its own and make a profit for the shareholders.
