THE HAMILTON VOLUNTEER CORPS.
The first drill in connection with the above corps took place in the Volunteer Hal), 011 Thursday night. There were 03 members, including officers, present, and a large attendance of the general public, who appeared to take a lively interest in the proceedings, especially during the time the volunteers were under the measuring standard. Captain Reid put the inen through a short drill, during which the public was requested to retire, and considering it was the first time for several to appear in the ranks, they went through the drill in a very creditable manner. A finer body of men than the Hamilton Volunteer Corps could not possibly be found, and they looked remarkably well in the ranks on Thursday night, the average height being sft. Bin., ranging from 6ft. 3Mn. down to sft. 4in. We" have been given to understand that the corps will be provided with uniforms with the least, possible delay.
