MORRINSVILLE.
ON Saturday evening last, Mr and Mrs Shepherd Allen, of Anntmdale, Pwko. p.nd Woodhead Hull, Staffordshire, England, entertained at. tea the members of tno Morrinsville branch of the Blue Ribbon Army and a large number of other friends. A most sumptuous tea was laid out in excellent style in the public schoolroom, kindly lent for the. occasion. Mr and Mrs Allan had thoughtfully secured the assistance of the Misses Horrell, Uinenin, Prest and Mrs H. Buttle, who energies were taxed to the utmost extent in order to supply the wants of the young and all, bntf-iounff and old enjoyed themselves to their heart's content. After tea was over an entertainment was held, when songs readings and recitations were cone through in a manner which elicited the heartiest applause, and the meeting closed with a warm vote of thanks being accorded to the host and hostess, to which Mr Allen replied in a most humorous speech. Mr and Mrs Allen, after spending about another fortnight at Annandale, purpose returning to England by way of America and the States. _____«. __»_■■
