wesleyan soiree. The anniversary soiree in connection with the Wesleyan Church was held in the hall on Thursday evening. Notwithstanding the wet day, the attendance was very good. Trays were provided by Mesdames J. W. Uridginan, Creamer, Millar, Carley, North, and Rogers. After the tables were cleared away the seats were arranged for the music nnd addresses. The following is the programme'.—Opening hymn, "When I survey the Wondrous Cross;" prayer by the Rev. Mr Rishworth. Mr J. W. Bridgman then took the chair. Iu the course of his remarks the chairman said that in spite of the depression of the past year, the Wesleyans could congratulate themselves on the fact that the debt on their church did not exceed £10. Song, " The Lost Chord," Mr G. D. Hunter ; address by the Rev. Mr Rishworth ; duet, " (Joine unto Me all ye that labour," Mrs Creamer and Miss CiXrley ; address by the Rev. Mr Hntson ; song, " Angels ever bright and fair," Mrs Andrew; address by the Rev. Mr Dellow ; solo, "Remember now thy Creator," Miss Carley ; address by the Rev. Mr Mather ; duet, "The sea of glass." As this would be the last occasion on which Mr Hutson would meet an assembly of Wesleyans, Mr Mather expressed his regret at his departure, and thanked, him for his assistance in matters spiritual. Votes of thanks to the ladies who provided trays, the singers, and Mrs Andrew, who played the accompaniments, were carried. After singing the doxology, the meetiug separated. Tho anniversary sermons will be preached on Sunday next by Mr Dellow.—(Own Correspondent.
