]BY TELUGRAPH.—PRESS ASSOCIATION.] Wellington, Monday. Intelligence has been received that the s.s. Hauraki, from Grey mouth, coal laden, foundered at 1 o'clock this morning 20 miles from Cape Farewell. The crew landed safely. The cause of the disaster is not yet known. The Hauraki was a composite screw steamer, of 87 tons gross register. She was built in Auckland in 1874. Her owners are Harvey and Greenwood, of Wellington. The Hauraki was a boat of 90 tons register, and was built at the North Shore, Auckland, by Holmes, about 12 years ago, being at first a paddle steamer. She was some years ago altered to a screw steamer.
